I encourage you to take responsibility for your emotional balance as well as your spiritual balance. Here are few tools to add to your "tool kit" that are easy to access and use.
1. Journaling is a familiar activity that allows you to capture your thoughts as well as the opportunity to decompress. Journal, paper, your cell phone, sticky notes coupled with pens, pencils, highlighters, markers, or a stylus are my suggestions.
2. Get some Vitamin D, naturally. If you can't go out for a walk, open your curtains and let the sun shine in your direction.
3. Increase the amount of water you drink and eat. I honor that water drinking may not be as easy for some as it for others, water based fruit (i.e. melons) or natural juices or smoothies are great substitutions as you build your relationship with drinking water
4. Listen to music that lifts your spirits and encourages you to move (dance). Dormant or still energy can cause your spirits to plummet just as sitting for a long time can cause stiffness. Set your alarms or ringtones to songs that cause you to dance or to at least smile.
As you take responsibility for you, keep your "tools" accessible and use them often.
